Sudhir Gopi Holdings INC Announces launch of Medical College

Sudhir Gopi Holdings Inc, a consortium of mulitinational corporations, on Thursday (31.05.2007) announced the launch of Saint Louis University International College of Medicine (SLUICM) at Baguio city Philippines targeting Indian students.
The college, to be set up in association with Saint Louis University, would target students from India especially Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Kerala where opportunities for medical education where limited, company chairman and managing director Sudhir Gopi told a press conference here.
Philippines with its globalised culture and English speaking literate and multiethnic population provided students and opportunity to pursue studies in global environment at unimaginably affordable costs, he added.
To begin with , a four- year Doctor of Medicine (MD) Programmme would be offered and the first batch would be commenced from September this year. More academic programmes would be launched next year, he said.
Gopi said students with Plus Two or equivalent pre-university qualification from a recognized Board/University with minimum of 50 per cent aggregate marks in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology would be eligible for admission for the Doctor of Medicine Programme.
However, students who intend to practice medicine in India shoud obtain eligibility certified from the Medical Council of India, before getting admitted for the programme, he said.
Gopi said the MD degree awarded by the Saint Lous University was recognized worldwide
